Brillant... simply brillant. Someone out there is truly thinking about me when they design stuff like this. I swear it.
Especially when it comes to office supplies... I mean come on... for those who know me, know that I'm a office supply freak. I love office supplies. I know it's weird, but I just can't help it.
Awhile back, my sweetheart came home from a trip to Office Depot & had bought these for me. Does he know me or what? I felt like a kid in a candy store.
Seriously though, aren't these just the coolest.
I know that everyone wants to run out & buy some now.
And yes... I have both leopard & the zebra ones.
Now I wonder if someone makes animal print paper trays? I know I've seen leopard & tiger print office chairs at Office Depot too & I'd love to have one (if only I could afford one).
Someone needs to open up a strickly animal print office supply store. I mean all types of animal print too, not just leopard, tiger & zebra. I know I'd probably be their biggest customer if there was such a store.
Just thinking about it, wow that could be dangerous.

come back daylight
Maxine says it perfect - I totally feel that way somedays.
It sucks when you get off work at 5pm & it's already starting to get dark outside. Makes me feel like I've wasted the day for some reason.
I'm so glad that time of year is ending now.
My favorite time of year is when it stays light outside til like 9pm at night. That's great because then you can get more done outside if you want instead of trying to hurry & beat the sunset.
With this crappy weather & it getting dark so early in the evenings, you feel like you're hibernating for months at a time. Don't get me wrong, I would like to hibernate during the colder weather, because I hate to be cold... but... the cold weather shouldn't last this long.
After being cooped up for a certain amount of time, I start to drive myself absolutely nutts being inside all the time.
Hurry up summer time & warmer weather, I miss you.

education & weight
With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest of our bodies.
So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy.
Beginning today, when I look at myself in the mirror I will think,
Good grief, look how smart I am!

surprise filing cabinets
Much to my surprise, I walked in to my office this morning & I had 2 new filing cabinets sitting in the middle of my floor.
Did they fall from the leaking ceiling?
Nope... apparently "someone" decided they needed more room in their office & even though I didn't have room in mine... I got stuck with them anyways. FANTASTIC!
Originally I had 6 filing cabinets, two of which are stacked on top of each other in the attempt to have a little more room, but now I'm up to 8 filing cabinets.
I'll be the first one to admit, I have to have things a certain way. I'm picky about organization bigtime, so now instead of doing any real productive work today... I will be re-organizing my office to my satisfaction. Hoping I can make it all work in a way that I won't feel like my office is closing in on me.
Wish me luck.

smokin' confession
As many of you know I've been a dedicated smoker for um... let's just say a "few" years.
Ok truth is... I lit my first cigarette when I was 15 years old.
Around 10th grade I put 'em down for almost an entire year & didn't pick even one up what-so-ever. Of course the first time I did though... well I didn't put 'em back down again for the rest of my high school days.
Then around the age 27ish I decided to quit again. Went to the dr & got some pills to help me quit this habbit & was almost successful but then when life started falling apart & the stress levels went up in my life, I failed. I failed badly.
I've been wanting to quit for a long time now, but my hard true confession is that... I'm scared.
A little over a month ago, there I was once again at the dr's office asking for pills to help with the addiction. The first week I was so determined & focussed on quitting & I cut back to almost half of what I was smoking. I felt better physically & I kept thinking if I could just reach the point where I can go one entire day without a cigarette I believe at that point I can truly conquer this for good. The dr made it very clear to me that I shouldn't try to stop "cold turkey" & because of my history of smoking, this would be a slow process over a 2-3 month period or I would be more likely to fall off the wagon later.
The older I've gotten... the harder everything seems to be.
It's harder to maintain that "skinny" figure that back-n-the-day I didn't even have to think about or work for. If I even think about food, I gain weight nowdays. I swear it.
I'm scared to fail again & my nightmere of weight gain while trying to quit smoking has come true.
So it's a toss up. Gain weight & strickly concentrate on stop smoking OR keep smoking & work on losing weight. Doing both at the same time is just simply impossible for me. Even the dr told me that would be just asking for trouble to attempt both at the same time.
Here's another hard true confession for me...
I was doing great with the cutting back on smoking & working towards quitting altogether, but in the past week I've been so depressed about the weight gain I've failed badly with smoking. So I'm stuck.
I don't expect or want to be some 100 lb anorexic barbie doll by any means, but I'd like to lose a few lbs & get back to where I should be again.
So what do I do?
I'm scared of failing again, but being depressed & not feeling so great about the way I look equals stress for me. And stress equals smoking.
Everything costs money that I don't have.
I would run to the weight dr & beg for help... but that takes money.
Then I could attempt to lose weight & stop smoking at the same time... maybe I could do it, hell I don't know.
Stress... Stress... Stress... Stress...Stress
I feel like I'm stuck in a mud hole & I don't have 4 wheel drive to get myself out!

invited... but to pay
Has anyone ever been invited to eat & automatically assume that they are not paying for the meal? Lets just say, like for instance if it were your boss who invited you.
Talk about frustrating.
Especially when you don't have the xtra money to be footing the bill for a lunchtime outing in the first place.
Lets say you had other "plans" for your paycheck that week. Like maybe bills or something kinda important.
And the fuse gets shorter.

Shannon II aka Cletus
Saturday, February 20th.
Here's Shannon II aka Cletus... cute as a button.
(Fred's 5 year old nephew Andrew re-named him Cletus)
Don'tcha just want to pick him up & hold him? I do.
He's just a little bitty thing, but oh so full of energy. He was buckin' around in the hay & havin' a grand ole' time. Not even a week old & already full of it.
Oh he's gonna be a mess.
You just can't help but fall in love.

new un-named baby boy
Saturday, February 20th
Talk about a wonderful but exhausting weekend. We got up at the crack a** of morning Saturday, loaded up & headed to western Oklahoma. The outside air was moist, cold & it was foggy. A great combination for a drive. ha ha
I was excited to make the trip with my sweetheart & see all the new babies out west. I can't even tell ya how much I absolutely love this life. Getting to see new 4-legged babies born & grow up. And it's also baby season... how exciting is that! Oh I love it, I love every minute of it. Ok I will quit jumping up & down now.
I also love road trips. No matter where we're going, I just love road trips. I guess since I don't get to venture very far beyond my usual surrounding territory, I get really excited when I get to travel anywhere else.
We spent most of the day out west & headed back home around 3ish. We got home & to our surprise we had a new baby boy who had arrived just a few hours earlier. Oh just look how adorable he is!
New little baby boy doesn't have a name just yet... but we'll get that figured out in the next few days hopefully.
I took a million pictures while we were out west & I will slowly but surely get those posted sometime.

The Charolais girls
This is the adorable Charolais girls that Fred & his mom got from the stockyards last Wednesday when Montana II lost her first baby boy... before we found out she had twins.
I've been wanting a baby girl for awhile so getting two at the same time made me want to jump up & do a cheer! We spent a few days trying to decide on what their names would be & the results are... Chateau & Cheyenne. We'll refer to them as the Charolais girls too.
Of course they bought the Charolais girls for Montana II, but then after discovering the twin, little Shannon II also know as "Cletus" (Fred's 5 yr old nephew Andrew re-named him)... the Charolais girls weren't necessarily needed anymore. My hopes immediately went towards thinking I would then have 2 new baby girls to bottle feed, but so far Montana II has let all 3 of them nurse. So unfortunately it doesn't look like I will be the Charolais girls new mommy after all. I am disapointed but I still have my fingers & toes crossed that I will get at least one bottle baby sometime soon.
Fred says that ya just never know though... there's still a chance I could get at least one of the girls to be my bottle baby. I'm trying not to get my hopes up to high just yet.

Shannon II
This is Montana II's new baby. Unfortunately she lost her first baby boy (Shannon I) but to our surprise she had twins! We had no clue. Fred & his mom went Wednesday morning & bought 2 baby Charolais girls for Montana II. So of course after I got off work at 5pm I had to head over to Fred's parents house to take pictures of the new baby girls because I get really excited when we have new babies!
But then while I was taking pics of the girls around 5:30pm, a baby boy came strolling up to find his mamma... who we are now calling little Shannon II. Let's say it was quite a shock that she had twins, but it's a very happy ending for Montana II considering she lost Shannon I. I can't imagine how she felt losing a baby.
Oh Montana II was so happy to see her baby boy! Not quite sure where or how he had gotten out of the fence & wandered away from mamma but what a surprise! He's so adorable too... but honestly aren't they all just adorable?
Don't worry I will be writing about the Charolais girls next! They are cutie pies too.
We've gotta pick some names out for them though. :-)

lunch minus one
So typically every month if we meet the goals that are set for the prior month... the bosses take everyone out to lunch somewhere.
Last week, it was decided since we met the goals for last month, we would go to lunch sometime this week. The boss told everyone to start thinking of a good day for everyone to go, etc. I've worked here over a year now & have been included everytime the goals were met & we all went to lunch. Somehow this time I wasn't included. I'm not quite sure what to think about it right now. I'm a little confused, hurt, upset, etc.
What does this mean? Am I not doing a good job... do they feel that I don't deserve the reward of lunch with everyone else... maybe they want to get everyone together to talk about me... damn I'm confused.
I feel like a kid whose been sat in the corner.
I'm not pyschic by any means, but for some reason I have this feeling when everyone comes back they will all play it off like "why didn't you come meet us for lunch?" or something along those lines. Typically people will ride together to meet up where ever we're going to eat at. Nobody even mentioned one word to me about any of it. Hell maybe I'm wrong... maybe they won't say one word about everyone even meeting for lunch today, who knows. Maybe they are all crossing their fingers I won't mention it.
It's not like I have the money to take myself to lunch to get anything either. I'm flat broke right now. Ok... I'm always flat broke. Since it doesn't matter if I leave for lunch or not, they still take 30 minutes out of my pay everyday, so I usually at least drive down the street & park in a parking lot somewhere & sit for 30 minutes then drive back to work. I can't afford the gas to drive around for 30 minutes, so I have to just go somewhere & park. I've been known to go to Wal-Mart to walk around & buy absolutely nothing but just something to kill a little time.
It's days like today that I wish my phone would ring & someone would say "I'm on my way to take you to lunch." Just to make me feel better. I know it won't happen, but I can still dream right?
Well I guess I'm off to kill 30 minutes somewhere for a lunch break.

congrats bff
I just wanted to say a huge Congratualtions to my BFF... Kat.
Today she started a new job & after having a really rough year, things are finally starting to look up for her & her family. I'm just so excited for her & hopefully everything else will continue up hill from here!
Kat & I have known each other since we were like 6-8 years old, so basically our whole lives. I've tried to get rid of her several times throughout the years but for some reason she just won't leave me alone. ha ha No... only joking. Seriously we've been through everything you can imagine together throughout our lives. We give each other a hard time all the time, but we both know without words that we're there beside each other no matter what happens good or bad.
Unfortunately we don't get to see or spend time together like we would like to, but somehow we always manage to figure out a way if too much time has passed.
For instance... last Thursday. She sent me a text to let me know that she got the job she had interviewed for the day before. I was scheduled to have a rodeo meeting that night (shhhh) & over the years I think I've missed a total of maybe 2-3 meetings total, but I decided meeting up with my bff to celebrate her getting a new job was much more important that some meeting that usually only a few people show up at anyways. So as soon as I got home from work, let Abigail out & give her dinner... I headed out the door to Guthrie to meet up with Kat to grab something to eat & hang out for a little bit. We ate at a mexican place & I know for a fact we both ate way to much... but oh well... we had a good dinner together & just the two of us got to chat. After we ate, we went to Wal-Mart for a few minutes then to Cato's so she could try on some clothes for her new job. It was 8:30pm when we left there. I took her back to her car & we both headed home for the night.
Since she's moved a little closer south towards my direction, maybe we can try to meet up more often to at least have dinner or something.
Kat please don't strangle me for stealing a pic from your facebook page to post on my blog.
And... Hurray Hurray for Kat , I hope she had a wonderful first day on the job.
Love Ya Kat

4 day breakdown
Here's the breakdown of the past 4 days:
Friday, February 12th
Took "Couples Retreat" & stopped by Blockbuster Video to rent 2 other movies (American Pie The Book of Love, The Hurt Locker), then head to KBow's house to eat dinner & watch movies for the night. KBow actually cooked & it was good! None of us died of food poisioning or anything... total shock! We only watched 2 movies, Couples Retreat & American Pie, then left & got back home 1am-ish, watched a little tv then passed out.
Saturday, February 13th
Got up around 9am... my bladder has a timer on it & I can only stay in bed for a certain amount of time before I must force myself to get up. My dad went to Langston's in the Stockyards today with the wagon. Since the PBR is here, some of the bull riders are down there signing autographs & I think they have a sale or something going on, who knows. Fred went to the clinic to help out & I met him there around 1pm. We went to Johnnie's to eat lunch with his parents, then I went to my parents house to check on mom & get her hooked up to the ice machine since dad wasn't there to help her. I had a good visit with her & she is doing much better each day. Her knee looks really good too. I stayed there til around 4:30pm then met Fred at his parents house to chat for awhile with them. Left there about 6:30pm & headed home to let Abigail out & feed her dinner. Fred got home around 8pm, he made french fries & we watched Ghost Rider since he hadn't seen it (which I ended up sleeping thru the last half of). I dvr'd it awhile back since I knew he had been wanting to see it. That was the extent of our day, then we went to bed.
Sunday, February 14th
Fred woke up around 9am, took a shower & got around. I crawled out of bed & made it to the couch, then went outside to get Fred's Valentine's Day present out of my truck to give to him. I was parked on the couch watching a movie until almost 11am when I finally decided to make my way to the shower to get ready. Fred left to go to his parents house & drove the feed truck. He text me at noon to let me know that they had just put the french bread pizzas in the oven & it would be ready soon. I was showered & ready, but I had parked myself back on the couch & was finishing up a movie (The Untouchables) that he actually had turned on & was watching before he left the house earlier.
I got to his parents house & it was time to eat. We ate lunch & then hung out for awhile. Around 2pm I decided I better go to Wal-Mart before it got any later & get some stuff that I needed. Fred was going to meet me at the house to watch the movie "The Hurt Locker" before he headed to KBow's for a poker game tonight. I ran to Wal-Mart then home to start cleaning house & start some laundry.
Fred didn't make it home to watch the movie before he headed to KBow's house. He got home around 6:15pm then changed clothes & headed to KBow's at 6:45pm. I watched The Amazing Race, cleaned the kitchen, picked up the house & worked on laundry the rest of the evening. Fred stopped at Braum's on his way home & grabbed us something to eat, it was around 11pm. We ate then it didn't take him long to head for the bed & pass out. I went to Kev's to get the last load of laundry & put it away then I crawled into bed around 12:30am & passed out myself.
Whew... what a weekend! Weekends are just never long enough.
Monday, February 15th
My brother's birthday! He's officially 53 years old... wow... damn he's getting old (just kidding). I called him to wish him a Happy Birthday & see how his day went.
My friend Adena came & took me to lunch today. I'm considering this my late Valentine's day lunch date LOL, since I'm the only one in my work place that didn't have one last Friday. We went to Chelino's & I ate way to much... then all I wanted to do was take a nap when I got back to work.
Got home from work at 5:30pm... Fred & I decided to make a trip into town to Target for a few groceries. We got home from Target & Fred made breakfast for dinner tonight. Yum Yum... egg, sausage, hashbrown scramble... yummy to my tummy. Now I'm sitting here finishing up my blog & thinking I'm almost ready for bedtime.
For some odd reason we never get to bed before midnight though. I haven't quite figured out why that is, but it just always seems to happen that way.
Valentino
Fred had to help in Valentino's arrival into the world... mamma was having a hard time by herself so Fred lended a helping hand & got Valentino here safely.
Isn't he just a cutie! I need to get some updated pictures of Valentino, so everyone can see how big he is now. So precious.
my VDay card to my sweetheart
My Forever Love
When I say "I Love You," it means
that in you I have found
a once-in-a-lifetime love,
the kind that I just know
will last forever...
It means I want to share
it all with you -
good times, bad times, adventures,
problems, and joys.
It means that, no matter what,
you're the one I want to be with.
When I say "I Love You," it means
I love you just the way you are,
and every time I'm with you,
I discover yet one more thing
about you to love.
Love is something very precious,
and when I say it, I mean it
with all my heart.
And I'm saying it to you.
Happy Valentine's day Sweetheart

I Am The Dreamer ,You Are The Dream
This is the #1 song that makes me think of The Cow Catcher. I Love You Sweetheart!
I Am The Dreamer, You Are The Dream
- Conway Twitty
A kiss in the dark, a touch of your hand
My arms are around you, my dream begins
The only thing that's different than any other night
Here we are together, my dream by my side.
I am the dreamer, you are the dream
You are the answer to my fantasy
All that I have dreamed of now is complete
I am the dreamer, you are the dream.
I know now that I've been dreamin'
I finally saw the light
With my arms wide open
I found the love that's right.
You don't have to wake me
for me to know it's real
The love that I have dreamed of
I can touch and feel.
I am the dreamer, you are the dream
You are the answer to my fantasy
All that I have dreamed of, now is complete

2009 VDay
Fred is absolutely awesome in so many ways. 2009 was our first Valentine's Day together & of course I wasn't sure what to expect he would or wouldn't do. I got him a card & a gift card for a book store over by the mall he hadn't been to yet (because he loves to read). I got home kind of early & waited for him to arrive... and waited... and waited... and finally ended up falling asleep waiting. When he came in I was totally passed out & had "I just woke up hair" too, it was cute. He was carrying a Wal-Mart sack in hand & I could tell there was a red card inside, so I knew that he had at least gotten me a card but I couldn't quite make out what the box was in the sack.
After the exchange of a few words - he asked me if I wanted my Valentine's gift instead of waiting til tomorrow. I told him it was whatever he wanted, so he pulled a brand new camera & card out of the Wal-Mart bag & handed it to me. WOW I was totally shocked & so excited all at the same time. I was speachless. I could hardly wait to open the new camera, omg. It's awesome & get this... it's orange!! Even better!! I loved it, absolutely loved it & I still love it to this day! Talk about a perfect gift! I honestly wasn't expecting a gift like that for Valentine's day.
I had been wanting a new digital camera for awhile just because the one I had was kinda bulky & I wanted something a little smaller & slimmer to fit in my purse without taking up a ton of room. This camera was absolutely perfect & it was small & slim just like I wanted & the bonus part was that it's orange! Does this man know me or what!
He definitely went above & beyond what I was expecting for our first Valentine's day last year, he's such a sweetheart.
Since tomorrow is Valentine's day I thought I would do a little reminiscing from last year.

Love The World Away
Another song dedicated to my sweetheart The Cow Catcher... a song that makes me think of you.
I love you sweetheart
Love The World Away
- Kenny Rogers
Every now and then, When the world steps in
Stealing all our time away
It soon takes so much, We forget to touch
That's when I know, It's time for me to say
Take my hand, Let's walk through love's door
And be free from the world once more
Here's my heart, We can hide today
And love the world away
Once again we'll be, Where our hearts are free
And the time is ours to share
Love will always stay, Just a touch away
Come with me, All the magic's waiting there
Take my hand, Let's walk through love's door
And be free from the world once more
Here's my heart, We can hide today
And love the world away
We can love the world away

Couples Retreat
When I first saw the commercials for this movie coming out in Theatre's, I was dying to go see it. We didn't get to make it to the Theatre to see it, but it came out on dvd on Tuesday, woohoo! We went Tuesday night to the local mom-n-pop rental place but all 10 copies they had were already rented out, go figure.
Fred left yesterday for western Oklahoma, so I thought I would attempt to rent it before he returned that way we could watch it when he comes home on Friday.
Yeah... so after work I ran some errands & then stopped off at Blockbuster Video in town to rent Couples Retreat. Of course they had like a million copies in stock.
After dealing with the cute little blonde girl at the counter that was obviously still in training, I was very patient because I was just excited to be able to rent the movie... I leave the store & head towards home.
I arrive home only to notice the cute little blonde girl had forgotten to remove the safety feature from the dvd. Grrrrrr
At first I wanted to scream, but I didn't. I didn't really want to drive back into town today to Blockbuster, but I have to go into town anyways this evening for a rodeo meeting so I guess it all works out ok.
I can't wait to watch the movie though, it looks so funny on the previews!

Walk Through This World With Me
Dedicated to my sweetheart The Cow Catcher... a song that makes me think of you.
Walk Through This World With Me
- George Jones
Walk through this world with me, Go where I go
Share all my my dreams with me, I need you so
In life we search and some of us find
I've looked for you a long, long time
And now that I've found you, New horizons I see
Come take my hand, and walk through this world with me
Walk through this world with me, Go where I go
Share all my dreams with me, I searched for you so
And now that I've found you, New horizons I see
Come take my hand and walk through this world with me
Come take my hand and walk through this world with me

Wednesday before VDay
It's hard to believe it's already February & Valentine's Day is almost here. This year is already starting to fly by fast.
I'm not really a huge Valentine's day go-all-out freak or anything. I know it's a day to celebrate your love & be all mushy with your honey. But to me it's another holiday that everyone in town jacks up their prices & there's at least a 1-2 hour wait at every restaurant in town, which is always irritating. I'm not a buy-me-flowers type of chick either. First of all, I'm allergic to flowers so that's totally out of the question. Balloons are cute & all, but why waste your money on something that will be gone less than 24 hours later.
Wait... maybe this is coming across all wrong. Let me explain.
I like surprises, but I'm a simple person, I like simple little surprises. Little things make me happy.
I like getting a sweet card for no reason what-so-ever except just to say I love you.
Finding a cute note around the house left somewhere for me to find.
Surprising me by showing up to sweep me away for a lunch date.
Making me blueberry muffins for breakfast on Saturday/Sunday morning.
Reading to me while we're laying in bed before we fall asleep (this is very sexy, wink wink)
A quick text that says I love you during the day just because.
I think everyone gets the point... simple things.
Don't get me wrong, other things are nice too... but to me bought things mean more if they are something that's needed or wanted & not something that can wilt away in a matter of hours. This is just my personal opinion, others may not agree & that's totally fine.
I like buying things for people that they need or want really badly but can't purchase on their own. Not that I've been able to buy anything nice for anyone in a long long time now, but I know eventually I will get back to that point in my life again where I'm able to do so.
So being my simple-self that I am... I have a plan for Valentine's Day this year. I wish I had money to sweep my honey off for a weekend get-a-way but realistically there's no way I can afford to do that, so I have to put on my creative thinking cap instead.
I've decided that I'm going to write down lyrics of songs that makes me think of my sweetheart & post them everyday from now until Valentine's Day, which is only 4 days away.
This is not my only plan... but I can't really write my plan publically & risk my sweetheart reading my blog & then my surprise wouldn't exactly be a surprise anymore now would it?
Happy early Valentine's day everyone... 4 days & counting down :-)

ceiling leak
My office ceiling has a few quirks to say the least. After the rain & snow & everything melting... a few spots appeared on my ceiling tiles. First it was a small stain... then day by day it kept growing & then BAM it was a total disaster. It started leaking thru the ceiling tiles & onto my floor... YUCK! It smelled & was just simply nasty to put it lightly.
So the a/c slash roof fixing people came & quote & quote fixed the leaks in the roof, replaced the tiles in every office that had stains/leaks peaking thru, etc. Then we were off work Thursday/Friday (January 28th & 29th) because of the crappy icy roads. Then Monday, first day back to work since last Wednesday & when I walked into my office, low & behold the stains were back again. So it's just a guess, but I don't think the a/c slash roof fixing people were successful week. Call me crazy but it's just a hunch I've got.
Monday, February 8th... I walk into my office & here's what my ceiling looks like. The ceiling tile had fallen down, water poured out onto the floor & onto the carpet. The smell was total YUCK to say the least & there was cold air blowing down thru the hole as well. I think to myself... WONDERFUL! This is a fabulous way to start a Monday morning if I do say so myself. (insert evil laugh here)
The a/c slash roof fixing people have been contacted & informed of the minor disaster, but today is Tuesday & I haven't seen one a/c slash roof fixing person show up at all. Not quite sure what the deal is with that.
All I know is that it's freezing in my office & I've managed to obtain an electric heater for the time being in attempt to not freeze to death while trying to get some work accomplished. If you look directly up thru the hole you can see the the rooftop... great huh! The insulation & ceiling tile both colapsed.
So that's how my week started off... F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S-!
No really, I couldn't help but laugh when I walked in yesterday & saw the disaster.
Apparently the a/c slash roof fixing people have more work to do now. LOL!

reckless kelly recovery
We went to the Reckless Kelly concert at the Wormy Dog Saloon Saturday night & had a great time. I think we stayed out way to late though. All day yesterday I was seriously dragging. I'm starting to notice the older we get, the earlier I need to go to bed & the more sleep my body requires. It's sad but true.
We were suppose to go to a friends house to watch the Super Bowl, but once we got home & relaxed... we didn't leave the house. In fact, we both dozed off & on thru the entire game & I ended up sleeping thru the last part of it altogether.
Oh to be young again & have that energy again... wouldn't that be nice?
It's always nice to get out & have fun, have a few drinks & hang out with friends. Even though it takes awhile to recover from a night out on the town, we still have such a good time!
I don't think it will ever matter how old I get... I will always look forward to going out for a night on the town!

Abi-Lazy
Abigail is the laziest four legged child in the world I will swear it. Yesterday, while I was busy multi-tasking... doing laundry, cleaning house, watching tv & blogging... the entire time Abigail was holding down the couch making sure it wasn't going anywhere.
She always burys her head in the covers, I think the lights are to bright for her to enjoy a beauty rest or something, who knows. Ears are up though to listen for anything she might need to check out.
When Abigail is in one of her lazy moods, you just can't disturb her. She will refuse to go outside & even growl at you if you try to make her get up & get motivated. Yeah... I know it's sad... she's so flippin' spoiled it's not even funny.
She's just so daggum cute though. Just looking at her all stretched out on the couch snoring... makes you want to take a nap yourself.

reckless kelly here we come
Reckless Kelly here we come! Tonight we're going to the Wormy Dog Saloon for our friend Joe's birthday. I haven't been to the Wormy Dog in a long time, so I'm looking forward to us going & having fun! It's been awhile since I've been to a concert too, so this is exciting. Concerts are so damn expensive these days, it's ridiculous if you ask me, but I guess nobody asked for my opinion. I will attempt to remember to take some pics while we're out, but there are no promises there. Considering I keep saying that & I always come away empty handed. I don't know whats wrong with me sometimes. I guess I get side tracked when we're having fun & completely forget to drag out the camera or cell phone to snap a few shots.
Well it's approaching 5pm, I guess I should finish cleaning house/laundry/blogging/watching tv & get off my butt & get around.

katey belle
January 23rd, ex-David was going to be out of town hunting, so I went by to feed & take care of her. I miss getting to see her every day since I've moved & hopefully one day in the future I'll get to move her out where I'm at so we can be re-united once again.
Katey Belle came into my life around 2003. She was living with a farmer/hunter & he had decided he no longer wanted her. The poor thing was in horrible shape. She had infections in both eyes, both ears & her hair was so matted the only option was to shave her bald & start over. My ex-David was the one who found her & he happened to bring her home around my birthday that year... so I've always considered her my birthday present.
She was so timid, shy & very nervous about everything at first. I suspected that she may have been abused, hit or beaten by the way she responded to certain things. It took some time & allot of money to get her well & back on her feet again, but to me it was worth every dollar that was spent. The original reason ex-David had inquired about her was because he was looking for another bird dog to go hunting with, when he received the phone call about Katey Belle. After seeing her, there was just no way possible I could have left her in the care of the farmer/hunter. You could just see the need for love in her eyes & it looked like she was just begging for warmth & attention. I knew she had to come home with me from that moment.I truly believe some people just don't deserve to have animals in their lives. If they aren't going to love & care for them like they deserve... then those people don't deserve to have them. Period.
Katey Belle became my precious baby from the get-go. I think she could feel how much I loved her from the very start & that I would give her the home she deserved.
Even after all this time, she still has one ear that has flare ups every now & again. It's just so sad, but she's a model patient to treat. Flushing, cleaning & medicating her ear... she'll just lay there very still & let you do whatever you have to.
She's never once been agressive in any shape or form what-so-ever. She's a lover not a fighter through & through.
It breaks my heart that she doesn't live with me right now. I miss her so much.
Even though it's hard to say, she is in good hands with ex-David for now. I know he takes care of her & she has 3 other dogs to play with at his house. When he goes out of town he calls to ask me to come take care of her, which allows me to spend quality time with her. I wish I had a big enough area fenced off so that she would have somewhere to run & play. Then she could come live with me again.
I have no idea what Katey Belle's name was before I brought her home.
Since I named my first baby Abigail Elizabeth after my best friend (Kathryn Elizabeth aka Kat)... I decided to name her Katey Belle & just spell her first name different. So both of my children are named after my bestest friend... awe!

Katie Opal
My youngest niece Rachel is pregnant as I announced before & she's due at the end of April. Actually on my great-niece Gabrielle's birthday... so that will be interesting! Gabrielle is escatic about it.Of course we know it's a girl, woohoo!
She decided to name her Katie Opal after both of her great-grandma's. My dad's mom was Katie & my mom's mom was Opal.
If both of my grandma's were still alive today they would be jumping up & down with excitement. But even though they aren't here in the flesh, I know they are doing cart-wheels in Heaven that she is naming her baby girl after both of them.
Now we just have to wait until the end of April before we get to hold little Katie Opal!
I can hardly wait! :-)
danger & hazzardous conditions at work
I took this pic this morning.
This is a pic of the backside of the building I work in. The door at the very back of the pic is the back door of my building. Notice the small walkway between the two buildings... and the 2 FT of ice/snow hanging off the end of the rooftop. Yikes!
That would seriously hurt if it fell on top of your head! OUCH!
Don't worry it didn't stay this way for long... someone knocked it all down to avoid any possible disaster that might occur.

CG About Time
The baby we lost sleep over this weekend awaiting his arrival. He's finally here & he's adorable of course!
His mommy is taking good care of him, so unfortunately no baby bottle calf for me to take care of just yet. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though, I'm not giving up.
Fred is going to try to get some better pictures of About Time tomorrow. He's just so cute I wish I could cuddle him... but well I highly doubt Big Montana would allow me to do so. Just like any good mamma she's protective over her baby, so I understand.
More pictures of baby About Time to come in the future.
