So here's the deal... for like... a long while now I've been downloading "free" music. I know I'm not the only one out there that's done this. It's been a really long time since I've downloading anything because well frankly I just haven't had the time.
Today I decided that I needed some new songs for my ipod & I open my Limewire program that I've had on my computer for like ever now & a message comes up that says...
**ATTENTION**
LimeWire is under a court order dated October 26, 2010 to stop distributing the LimeWire software. A copy of the injunction can be found here. LimeWire LLC, its directors and officers, are taking all steps to comply with the injunction. We have very recently become aware of unauthorized applications on the internet purporting to use the LimeWire name. We demand that all persons using the LimeWire software, name, or trademark in order to upload or download copyrighted works in any manner cease and desist from doing so. We further remind you that the unauthorized uploading and downloading of copyrighted works is illegal.
Grrr!
So I guess you could say I've just been lucky all these years, being able to download all the music I have... I don't know. Kinda irritates me a little because I've been able to find songs on there that they don't make the records, tapes or cd's for anymore & I've been unable to find the songs anywhere else. Now... what am I going to do if I'm looking for a long thats a million years old... geez. Oh well, I guess I will be purchasing itunes from now on if I want a song.
I'm currently taking donations... if anyone wants to buy me an itunes gift card, please feel free.

11lbs 14oz
Kayla weighed in at 11lbs 14oz & 22 inches Thursday... is that even possible already? How is she already that big?
Officially 79 days / 11 weeks old today.
Every day she's changing & doing something different. In my opinion, motherhood is absolutely fantastic & amazing to put it lightly. I'm loving every minute of it.
I look at her newborn pictures & I don't even recognize that baby anymore... she looks so different now.
She's still sleeping in her bassinet next to my side of the bed, but it won't be long before she'll have to merge to the crib in her bedroom. I'll admit I'm pretty sad about the thought of not having her sleeping right next to me all night long. I haven't wrapped my brain around that just yet. I've caught myself thinking... we have enough room to move the crib into our bedroom, but... I know that's silly. She will be right across the hallway & we have monitors. I guess you could say I have a little bit of separation anxiety just thinking about it, but I know I will adjust once we have to cross that bridge.
I can't wait until the weather is nice enough that I can take her for walks in the stroller, along with me getting some much needed exercise as well. The good thing is that the neighborhood we live in is nice & quiet with very little traffic.
I know everyone's thinking that my blogs have now converted to strictly a baby blog, and well you're more than likely right about this. I can't hold back or resist the urge to brag or tell stories about little Kayla. It's just impossible for me these days. It's like an addiction. A good addiction in my opinion.
My parents love taking care of her while I'm at work every day. My dad has become insanely over protective over her, so once & awhile I have to remind him that I am her mother. I know he can't help it. He was like that with both me & my brother & well... to this day he's still that way to a certain degree. All in a good way though & now that I have my own child, I understand.
This weekend my goal is to work on un-packing & organizing the den/office area. What a mess I've got going on down there, whew. Right now, there is a path to walk & that's about all I can say about that. I need some shelving though & well right now I can't afford to purchase that, so for the time being I will just go through everything & make due the best I can.
I guess instead of sitting here blogging I should be making progress.

2 months old
Can you believe it? Kayla is officially 2 months old today. What happened to the past two months? On one hand it seems like it hasn't been 2 months already & on the other hand it almost seems like it's been longer then 2 months. I can't explain it, but that's just how it feels. Weird... I know.
I will admit that I do have a little regret cutting my time short with Kayla, by going back to work & not taking the full 6 weeks off work to spend with her. Maybe I would have been more successful at breast feeding if I didn't have the pressure of having to rush back to work, I don't know. The fact is, whats done is done & I'm back to work full time & have been for awhile now. The only peace I have is that while I'm at work during the day she's being watched by our family, so I know for a fact she's in good care with people that love her & have her best interest at heart. I'm not sure I would have that same peace of mind if I was dropping her off at some random daycare everyday.
Every day Kayla is growing & changing & it's just amazing to witness.
Today it just so happens that we're snowed in again. What a coincidence though really... officially 2 months old & I'm able to spend the day with her. How great is that? Yesterday I was dreading the thought of being cooped up for another day, but this morning I realized that I was perfectly ok with it. Even if I don't get to un-pack any boxes or attempt to get more organized... I've decided to savor this day with my Kayla.
During our Wal-Mart trip Sunday, we bought Kayla a Valentine outfit. Oh it's cute too. It doesn't say anything about Valentine's Day on it, so it can be worn other than just for the holiday. Fred picked it out, which surprised me because he made a big stink about how stupid it was to buy her an outfit especially for the holiday. Somehow he warmed up about it while we were at the store I guess. I'm not real sure what changed his mind & in return I never asked, I was just happy he did. Don't worry, I will be posting pics of her in her V-Day outfit at a later date.
Before I was ever pregnant, people use to ask me all the time if I wanted kids or ever planned on having any. During my pregnancy, the question merged to whether I would consider having another one. Now that Kayla is here... people are asking when or if we plan to have another one & if so... when. Then yesterday, a lady I worked with informed me that I shouldn't space my children out further than 2 years or they would have nothing to do with each other.
Thanks for the advice but... me of all people completely understand more than anyone about age gaps between siblings. Of course I don't want there to be 20 years difference between my children like there is between my brother & I. Seriously if that were the case... that would put me being pregnant in my 50's & well that's just not cool if you ask my opinion. Definitely not going to happen either. Yes, of course we would like to have another child, but as of right now our main goal is to raise Kayla & later on when we're ready we will plan for another one.
I've come to realize that there's nothing better that brightens my day then to see Kayla smile. She has the cutest little smile I've ever seen & even if I've had a long tiring stressful day... it all disappears when I hold her & see that precious smile.
Well it's time to put my little love bug night-night & head that direction myself.
This has been this happiest 2 months of my life!

Another blizzard heading our way?
Really... seriously... according to the weather reports, we're suppose to be getting another 6-12 inches of snow coming in tonight/tomorrow. Wonderful.
As of right now, nobody at my office is planning on even attempting the drive in tomorrow. So basically the office will be shut down due to the weather & we will all have to use PTO (personal time off) time if we have it OR... just not get paid. I can really use the money right now & really can't afford to be missing any more work than I absolutely have to, but it's not worth getting out & risking the drive, so I will be sitting at home. Snowed in again. Great.
I'm sure Fred will make his way out of the house tomorrow, but Kayla & I will be left holding down the fort by ourselves once again. Not that we mind, because at least we'll be inside the house where it's warm. It's just that I'm not ready to be cooped up again.
All I can hope for is that Kayla is in a good mood & won't be fussy all day long. Maybe I can actually get some unpacking done & make some progress around the house tomorrow. Ideally it would be nice if my hubby could stay home & spend the day with us... but I know that would never happen, unfortunately.
I'm sure I will blogging more tomorrow... so until then, everyone bundle up & stay warm tonight!

She-Ra Princess Of Power
So last night I decided to make Pioneer Woman's Apple Dumplings... yum! Apparently I wasn't aware of my own strength & in the process of slicing the second apple, the apple slicer blades decided to break mid-slice & almost slice my right thumb off. Awesome.
From all the blood, you would have thought that my thumb should've been hanging off my hand by just a thread of skin, but after the the wound finally stopped bleeding, it wasn't actually that bad. It's crazy how the smallest of wounds seem to bleed so bad.
I felt like She-Ra Princess Of Power or a direct decendant of hers.
I can honestly say that last night's dessert was made with blood, sweat & tears though... & mean it! Ha Ha
Now with that said, I wonder if She-Ra Princess Of Power can make the crazy snow blizzards go away? This crazy weather we've been having here needs to vanish & quickly. I'm ready for summer time or at least nicer weather to arrive soon.
And from what the weather people are saying now... we're in store for another snow day like we had last week. Ugh. Someone just shoot me now please.

Mommy's Little Angel
When you were born you filled my heart with pride, And I was overcome by the joy I felt inside.
As I held you in my arms that very first day, I knew I would never let any harm come your way.
With your tiny little hands and tiny little feet, Everytime I look at you my heart skips a beat.
As I watch you sleep in the middle of the night, I hope and pray I will do everything right.
I know I may make some mistakes along the way, But I promise to do my best not to every single day.
I often wonder what you will grow up to be, But whatever you become will be fine with me.
So whatever you may decide to do in your life, Maybe an astronaut, a lawyer, or even a doctor's wife.
I can say this without any doubt at all, I will always be there to catch you if you fall.
And another promise I make to you from me, Mommy's little angel you will always be.

Snow week almost over
Well here we are... we've almost made it thru this crazy weather that's been thrown our way this week. I think it snowed about a million inches on Monday/Tuesday, which ended up locking us all in our homes for two days.
Tuesday was a very non productive day for me. I tried to catch up on some much needed rest & relaxation but then yesterday, I told myself that I really needed to kick it into action & take advantage of the fact I was at home & get some stuff accomplished. I re-organized Kayla's bedroom & got things in better order. I put away all the new born clothes that she's outgrown & hung up all the 0-3 month outfits that she can now fit into. I know it won't be long before she'll have to start sleeping in her bedroom in her crib... I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that just yet either. The thought of not being able to wake up at random points in the middle of the night & just glance over to see my sleeping love bug in her bassinet... ugh maybe I should think about replacing the bassinet with her crib next to our bed so I don't have to even think about that. Nah just kidding. I know that's a habit I shouldn't even think about starting, bad, bad. It's like I'm already having separation anxiety & she hasn't even started sleeping in her own bedroom yet. Kinda scary huh.
I started thinking today... Kayla doesn't have a Valentine's Day outfit. I will have to take care of that this weekend for sure. Her first Valentine's Day is approaching & she has to have a special outfit for it, I mean come on. What kind of mother would I be if I didn't dress my love bug up for her first V-Day, geez.
In exactly 6 more days, she'll officially be 2 months old. Is that really possible? Has it already been 2 months? What happened... did I somehow sleep thru a few days somewhere & not realize it? In some ways it feels like it's been longer then 2 months but in other ways I can't figure out where the time has gone. I know that sounds confusing, but that's just exactly how it feels to me.
I can't say how happy I am that tomorrow is Friday. Even though because of the snow days, I've only physically been at work 2 days so far, it's just been a long week.
Once again... Kayla & I await her daddy's arrival home this evening & yes it's after 10pm. I have to admit that this has gotten past the point of old & I only wish for him to at least set aside certain days every week to make a point to be at home at a decent hour to spend quality time with his family & especially with Kayla. I'm starting to feel like a single mom & I don't like that feeling.
The sad part is that I can't make anyone change their priorities, they have to want to change them on their own.

Snow day
My idea of having a snow day was almost perfect today.
Work was officially shut down & nobody went in...check.
We have plenty of groceries in the house...check.
I didn't have to get out & drive anywhere...check.
It's approaching 7pm & I'm still sporting my pj's...check.
Hubby & me snuggled up on the couch watching movies & snacking all day...nope.
However my wonderful husband did make me a wonderful breakfast this morning which I'm very grateful for. Somehow I'm confused though... if I cook, then I clean up the kitchen, but if he cooks then I still have to clean up the kitchen. Am I missing something?
Kayla has been all warm, fuzzy & snuggly all day long. There's a lot to be thankful for on this dreadfully freezing snow day. I do wish that my husband was here snuggled up with me on the couch instead of somewhere else. Unfortunately he's been gone all day & won't be back until... I'm not quite sure yet. His strong point is definitely not calling to check in very often, if ever. I'm usually the one who ends up calling him to find out what time he'll be coming home or what's going on.
From the looks of the weather outside, it's not looking very promising for travel tomorrow. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this just yet either. Being stuck inside for another day, ugh. On the other hand, at least we're staying warm. Just kinda sucks being cooped up in the house after spending the past 2 months pretty much cooped up with being prego & then having Miss Kayla.
Hopefully hubby will return home soon & we'll spend the evening together as a family.
Now... I should probably go clean the kitchen so I can figure out what to make for dinner this evening.
