A Little About Us

The reason I named my blog "When Two Trails Become One Road", is very simple actually. From the moment I saw the statue, I fell in love with it. The first thought that crossed my mind from that very moment was that would be my ultimate perfect wedding gift when or if that day ever comes in my life. A girl can dream can't she? There's never any harm in that, at least I didn't think so.  The other reason is that I would love to be able to write a story about myself & my one true love. Ya know... how we met, the road that brought us together & making the steps for a future together, etc. Ok, that sounds kinda mushy & cheesy I guess, oh well.

My day to day life is always interesting, I wear many different hats. I sit behind a desk 40 hours a week, volunteer secretary & web designer for the Edmond Round Up Club, proud mommy of 2 precious dogs (Abigail Elizabeth, Jack Russell & Katey Belle, English Setter) & an absolutely beautiful baby girl Kayla... and standing beside me through every crazy day of my life is my supportive hubby Fred aka "The Cowcatcher", who is an amazing man.

Most days, my life moves at warp speed & it's hard for me to keep up with myself sometimes.

Fred & I have known each other for a long time, we actually went to middle school together but met & started hanging out together in high school (around 15 yrs old).  Fred & I definitely have some good memories together from back in the high school days.  He's always been just an all around good guy & anyone that knows him will say the exact same thing.

In high school he was always so quiet & shy, but he's never been shy or quiet with me that I can remember.  We've always talked & been comfortable with each other. After high school we kind of kept in contact off & on, or ran into each other here & there.

I remember one instance many many years ago, me & my friend Tanja had gone to the Wolf Trap (bar) for a few drinks while she was in town, then Eric & Fred showed up & I remember thinking "DAMN he's hott". I hadn't seen Fred in a few years at that point, but oh my... he looked really good that night.

Well we lost touch for awhile, then back in April 2008, I was talking to KBow (Fred's best friend & my friend too) on the phone & I decided to ask for Fred's phone number again so I could see what he's been up to the past few years. I gave him a call & we talked for a few minutes & I told him to give me a call next time he's in town & maybe we can meet for drinks sometime. As it turned out, a few weeks later after I called him, he text me & after a few text messages back & forth, we decided to meet for drinks at the Wolf Trap (bar) the next weekend & well... here we are still today... now married with a precious little girl.

We both have the same family values & to me thats very important for a foundation of a relationship.  We don't have some crazy love story where he rode in on a horse or me wearing a long flowing gown or anything wild like that, but in my heart I feel like someone higher up had a hand in putting our lives together.

We are not perfect (well I am sometimes... JUST KIDDING) & just like every relationship we have our ups & downs & day to day mountains to climb, but I think so far we've done a damn good job at working thru the hard times & over coming each other's stubborn ways.

I come from a background of draft horses & rodeo... Fred from the cattle business.  Not having been around the cattle business, it's a learning experience for me, but I enjoy every minute of it.  For the first time in my life I feel like I'm in the right place with the right person & that's truly an awesome feeling to have.

Fred is such an amazing man in so many ways, I have the highest respect for him & I look forward to building our future together & spending the rest of my life next to this wonderful man.
