New wedding band

As I said before, over a month ago Fred lost his wedding ring somewhere in a pasture, so I bought him a new one a few weeks ago.

Well it finally came in & I picked it up earlier this week.  It's nice!  I guess I didn't pay that close attention to it when we bought it.  Hopefully he doesn't lose this one.

Date Night Surprise

Well last Saturday night, we finally had another date night, woohoo!  My mother-n-law came over around 8pm to watch Kayla so we could actually go out for once.  We ended up running to the mall for some quick errands... one being that I needed some new bras & hadn't had a chance to go get any.  That was a quick trip though.  I hate shopping, so we were in & out of the store in a flash.  Then we headed to Kay Jewelers where we found him a new wedding ring, since he lost his a few weeks ago in the middle of a pasture somewhere.  After that, we ended up at Longhorn Steakhouse to eat some dinner.  We had a really nice dinner & I even drank a beer!  Man that beer tasted good too, it's been a long time since I had one.  After dinner, we headed home.

The fact that Fred came up with the idea for us to go out, all on his own... well that meant a lot to me.  I was starting to wonder when or if he would ever get the notion to.  After all, we hadn't had a real date night since November & well... to me that seems like forever ago.

As much as I love spending every moment I possibly can with my precious little girl... sometimes I need a little adult one-on-one time as well.  So when the opportunity arises, I take advantage of it.

I love you honey & thank you for planning a date night!

Date Night

A long time coming now... Fred & I finally had a date night Saturday night.  My mother-n-law came over to our house to watch Kayla.  She got here about 7:30pm & then we headed out.  Our original plan was to catch a movie & eat somewhere.  Unfortunately the next show times were around 10pm or so.  With that, we decided to head to Bed Bath & Beyond to do a little shopping with the gift cards we still had left from our wedding... yeah from over a year ago.  Sad, I know.
I'm extremely happy to announce that I became the proud new owner of a KichenAid Artisan Mixer!  Oh, isn't it just beautiful... I love it!  So I've been wanting one of these for like EVER now & the broke down hand held mixer I've had for 100 years kicked the bucket many years ago.

We looked the store over before we made our decision.  There are several things I would like to have from there, but this mixer is better than anything else in my opinion.

I'm not a professional cake baker by any means, but I do like to cook & bake though.

After we left Bed Bath & Beyond, we stopped at Walgreen's to pick up my medication, which I thought was going to be a quick stop, boy was I wrong.  They had the prescription wrong & I ended up having to wait for them to correct it... in the meantime a whole slew of people decided to come to the pharmacy, so the line went from being just me to like 8 more people.  Needless to say, we were in Walgreen's longer than what we had planned on.

Since we hadn't eaten at Applebees in awhile we decided to go there for dinner.  We walked in the door & low & behold they were having karaoke night... since when did Applebees start doing this?  Good grief it was loud in there.  I was close to turning around & walking back out the door to go somewhere else, but I figured what the heck we're already here, maybe it won't be that bad.  We sat down & ordered our drinks & food.  I was in the mood for chicken fried chicken, steamed veggies w/mash potato's & gravy - oh yum!  When our food came, my mash potato's were hiding under my chicken fried chicken & there was no gravy, ugh not cool.  I requested gravy for my mash potato's & the waitress informs me that it will cost extra for that.  Who doesn't like gravy with their mash potato's, geez.  Fred quickly told her he didn't care if there was a charge, just to bring it anyways.  The time span between the waitress leaving the table to put the order in for my extra gravy & the time it actually arrived... well lets just say Fred was completely done eating & I had finished my veggies & half of the chicken fried chicken.  What a crock.  I was not happy with this experience.  The wait staff & manager seemed to busy trying to karaoke instead of wait on their customers.  I think I will wait awhile before going back there to eat again.

After leaving Applebees we decided to run by Wal-Mart to grab a few things we needed before heading home.  Wow... the most interesting people show up at Wal-Mart late at night.  As I was looking at little girl clothes, two young guys approached me & started pointing & singing to me.  Yes, you heard that right... just randomly started singing to me.  Then they laughed & said "did we embarrass you", my response was, "no I think you're embarrassing yourself more than anything".  They quickly walked off, arms around each other, skipping & singing away.  Odd, huh.  Wait it gets better.  So then I walk off to find Fred & ask him if he heard the singing, he said he heard it but wasn't sure what the heck it was.  Ha Ha

While walking through the dairy isle to grab some yogurt, I passed a guy that had the tattoo "Jesus Freak" in HUGE letters down his arm.  Then a guy wearing skin tight purple jeans had on so much colonge that I think he was determined to kill me... well he seemed to end up on every isle we were.
This is just a touch of our date night evening Saturday night.  Crazy huh.  Even though it was definitely an interesting evening... we still had fun.  It's always nice to get out & do something once & awhile.

Now I just hope it happens again in the near future without me having to ask or beg for it.

God Gave Me You

I've loved this song since the first time I heard it & I immediately thought of my hubby.  I know that we've had our ups & downs lately, but the most important thing is that we love each other & I know that we will make it through these tough times & come out better & stronger afterwards.  From the moment we got together, I've believed deep down that the man above was the one who put our hearts together from the very start.  I love my hubby oh so very much... so this is for you honey.  I love you.

God Gave Me You - Blake Shelton

I’ve been a walking heartache

I’ve made a mess of me
The person that I’ve been lately
Ain’t who I wanna be

But you stay here right beside me
And watch as the storm blows through
And I need you

Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you
Gave me you

There’s more here than what we’re seeing
A divine conspiracy
That you, an angel lovely
Could somehow fall for me
You’ll always be love’s great martyr
And I’ll be the flattered fool
And I need you

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you

On my own I’m only
Half of what I could be
I can’t do without you
We are stitched together
And what love has tethered
I pray we never undo

Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true

God gave me you, gave me you.
He gave me you.

First ring

December 2008 - was when I received my first official ring from my sweetheart!

It's hard to believe it's already been that long ago.

What a beautiful ring it is too!

It's been a while since I've been able to wear it, because my finger has simply been to fat for it.  I tried it on a few weeks ago & low & behold... it fits again!  Hurray.  So the past week or so, I've been wearing it, just on on my right hand instead of the left.  I really love that ring.

Thanks again honey for that beautiful ring, I love you!

1st Session

We had our first appointment with "Paula" the counselor tonight.  I was so nervous making the drive there.  I had no idea what to expect, I've never experienced anything like this before, I've only seen & heard about it through friends & family.

I believe our appointment was suppose to be an hour, but instead we were there an hour & half.

Since I had to leave straight from work, Fred met me at Braums & we rode together from there.  Then afterwards, I dropped him back off at his truck & headed north to stop for gas, pick up Kayla & get home.

I will be honest, it's taken me a few hours to process everything we discussed.  It was a little odd for some stranger to be asking questions & you're suppose to just open up & discuss everything.  I know it sounds silly, because obviously that's why we are going is to get help & get back on a smoother path.  I know it won't take me long to warm up more, but since it was the first time my nerves were a little on edge before I even got there.

Our next visits will be one-on-one's to discuss our homework (questionnaire) she gave us each to fill out.  It's basically history about us individually.

As those who know me can imagine... I've already started typing mine up.  Even though my appointment isn't until a week from today.  Damn that might be the OCD in me setting in, who knows.

I can't help but have high hopes that we've made a step in the right direction.

I tried so very hard to hold back all my emotions today... why... well I don't know why.  I just can't answer that.  The best I can explain it is that I felt weak.  When she hit certain spots w/me & I felt the tears coming... my very first thought was, "get up & step out of the room & pull yourself back together again".  Although I didn't do that, the thought absolutely crossed my mind.  Ok it actually crossed my mind more than once.

After I've had time to think about everything & really process my feelings & thoughts... I look forward my next appointment & our future appointments.

Fred is the one who picked her & made the appointment.  I have to say, he did a damn good job picking her, even if it was just a random choice.  Paula is very nice & I really believe she can help us get back on track again.

I love you honey!

How to make a beautiful life together

This is what the card read that my mother gave me & Fred for our wedding... I really love the words, so I thought I would post to share.

How to make a beautiful life together

Reflections on marriage for the bride and groom

Let love be your shelter

The world is noisy & confusing at times, so make a home that is a haven,

a peacful place where you can listen to your hearts & savor the comfortable closeness you share.

No matter how busy your days may be, make time for yourselves.

Hold hands. Unwind. Surprise each other.

Find little chances every day to show you're grateful to be partners, to be friends, to be married.

Life is not perfect.

You will make mistakes, but each time you meet life's challenges together,

you will grow wiser, stronger, and surer of your love.

Cherish your yesterdays.

They are irreplaceable souvenirs of your journey through life.

Make memories that will bring smiles & sighs whenever you look back.

Look back often!

Look forward, too.

Dream together, plan together.

Make promises to keep.

Believe in your tomorrows, because tomorrows are what forever is made of.

To make love last, put each other first.

That is the way to make it a beautiful life together, the kind of life

you both deserve so much.

Gettin' Fancy Kimberly

When I was growing up, my brother bought me a Kimberly doll & I absolutely loved it. I mean seriously... they made a doll with my name, how cool is that?

Well several years ago I decided that one day I would search until I found them still in the box & purchase each one if my pockets could afford it! My mom still has my Kimberly doll at their house although I'm not quite sure where all her accessories are located, she does however have on the clothes she came with.

GUESS WHAT? For my late birthday gift, my wonderful hubby found one on ebay & bought it for me! The one I had as a girl, is cheerleader Kimberly, but this one is "Gettin' Fancy Kimberly". How totally awesome.

I know some might think I shouldn't be wishing for a doll at such an older age in life, but hey I don't really care what anyone else thinks. I'm still a kid at heart anyways AND come on who wouldn't want to collect a doll that was named after them?

What is funny is that I posted a blog about the Kimberly doll back on December 22, 2009.
Click here to read: kimberly doll.

So to my wonderful hubby... THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH & I love you!

Some catching up to do

I know I keep saying this… but wow how time flies. Every time I think about sitting down to blog, I get side tracked or something comes up & I don’t. It’s becoming more apparent to me that I just simply don’t have time to do anything extra that I would like to do these days. In many ways that’s ok with me, but in other ways I wish that I could get everything in my life more organized so that I can manage to do more.

July is one of those months that always seem like a blur by the time the last day arrives.
Let’s see, here is my July schedule:

July 3rd is my niece Burgandi’s birthday
July 4th is well July 4th
July 6th is my niece Emily’s birthday
July 9th is my great-nephew Bubba’s birthday
July 18th is my niece Rachel’s birthday
July 20th is my birthday

July 27th is my parent’s anniversary
July 27th is our anniversary
July 27th is my friend Amber’s birthday

Not to mention two weekends of rodeos mixed in there as well.
Whew, let’s take a breath. Kinda busy huh?

I am happy to announce that hubby & I will officially celebrate our one-year anniversary though! I’m excited about that. We made it one year, wow. In some ways it’s been a really long one-year, but in other ways it’s kinda crept up fast... if that makes any sense.

We’ve had our share of moments the past few months. Things have been pretty stressful in more ways than one, but the most important thing is that we’ve made it so far.

The den/laundry area project is still under way & the goal is to be finished asap. Maybe I can actually relax a little once I get everything back in order & be able to re-hook all my computer/printer stuff back up & actually be able to walk without dodging large piles of stuff everywhere. Just having everything in such disarray causes me to want to poke nails in my eyes some days.

Of course I can’t write a blog without talking about our precious mini-muffin aka Kayla. Every day she changes & starts doing something new, it’s simply amazing. I’ll admit that sometimes I just want to sit & stare at her because she’s so beautiful. I absolutely love & adore everything about her. Am I nut or what? I’m in love with my little love bug & I can’t help it. She’s currently going through the stage of not allowing anyone to hold her except for a select few… which are daddy, her grandpa, grandma & of course me. Other than that, it takes her about a second when someone picks her up before she starts crying. Nurse Shirley assured me that this stage will pass with some time, so I’ll be thankful for that. It really breaks my heart when Fred’s mom wants to hold her but Kayla just starts crying. I feel so bad even though I know there’s nothing I can do about it. I guess the only comforting thing is when other mothers tell me about them having the same issues with their children when they were around her same age.

No matter what it is, it’s always comforting to know when others have had or are having the same happenings too.

I will have to post pictures of Kayla’s first appearance in the Edmond 4th of July parade this year! Talk about adorable. She sat on the seat right next to her papa for the entire parade on the Langston’s wagon. The only time she didn’t enjoy herself was when the motorcycles roared by… she cried. Other than that, she was a perfect angel & I personally think she enjoyed it. I was truly a proud parent that day!

Nurse Shirley came today & Kayla weighed a whopping 17lbs 7oz & hasn’t grown in height yet. But that’s ok; in my eyes she’s absolutely perfect in every way.

I guess I should talk about the fact that today is my birthday. The big 34 this year & that totally doesn’t seem real to say or write. 34… wow I remember when I was like 20 knowing people that were 34 & thinking that was a long distance away, man was I wrong. It definitely snuck up on me when I wasn’t paying attention.

Honestly though, all in all, I’m ok with 34. It’s another day, another year. I’m alive, healthy & even though I have days that are rough just like everyone else does… I love my life & wouldn’t change it. Well… maybe except for wanting to win the lottery. Ha Ha

I’m not quite sure what this evening holds just yet. The original plan was to paint the ceiling in the den last night, but due to a lack of motivation on both our parts… we decided to plop ourselves on the couch & watch the newest episode of Gene Simmons Family Jewels instead. I’ve already bought the paint & I’m determined to get this project finished in the very near future to save my sanity or what’s left of it at this point.

Well I think I’ve covered a little bit of everything to catch up since the last blog, which was like well over a month ago. I know, shame on me. I promise I will make an attempt to do better in the future.

Welcome home honey

I was so excited with the return of my hubby from his long trip to Montana again.  Almost 8 days he was away... ugh.  A few days is one thing, but a week... that takes a toll.

In one way I'm jealous of his trips away, but then I think about leaving Kayla & well... that's just not an option yet.  Un-thinkable even.  Leave my baby?  Oh hell no.  There's no way that I could emotionally do it right now.  Eventually I'm sure that feeling might pass, who knows.  I can't imagine being without her for days on end.

I feel like a little kid when my honey calls to say he's started on the road home.  From that moment I count down the hours leading up until his arrival.  I can't help it.  I've missed him & I'm more than ready for him to be home.  He arrived home late last Tuesday night & sadly by the time he arrived I was only a few hours away from having to wake up & start my work day, so we didn't get to spend much time together before both our heads hit the pillow & passed smooth out.

From the time he arrived home from Montana, we haven't gotten to spend much time together & that's really been hard on me.  He left again a few days later to head west & didn't return home until late Saturday night.  Now he's fixing to head west again, ugh.

I married a cattleman & well there are certain times of years it's a little more busy then others... although I'm starting to think this is never ending.  It was one thing before we had a baby, but now with him being away for long periods of time... well it's a little stressful for me to do it all by myself.

With so much happening for us all within a year's time... we have a lot to work on together.  Life is not perfect & well, with any relationship it takes two people working together to make it a success.  Having a family is just hard work.  We're new at marriage & raising a child & somedays its more of a challenge then others.  That's just the honest truth.  Even though it's tough sometimes, it's so worth it.  Especially when you wake up to the most beautiful little girl in the world smiling at you... your heart melts & it makes the whole day start off with a ray of sunshine.  I tend to forget anything bad or negative that happened the day before when I see that precious smile.

Well I'm off to finish cooking dinner... nothing beats home made tacos in my opinion.

Another blizzard heading our way?

Really... seriously... according to the weather reports, we're suppose to be getting another 6-12 inches of snow coming in tonight/tomorrow.  Wonderful.

As of right now, nobody at my office is planning on even attempting the drive in tomorrow.  So basically the office will be shut down due to the weather & we will all have to use PTO (personal time off) time if we have it OR... just not get paid.  I can really use the money right now & really can't afford to be missing any more work than I absolutely have to, but it's not worth getting out & risking the drive, so I will be sitting at home.  Snowed in again.  Great.

I'm sure Fred will make his way out of the house tomorrow, but Kayla & I will be left holding down the fort by ourselves once again.  Not that we mind, because at least we'll be inside the house where it's warm.  It's just that I'm not ready to be cooped up again.

All I can hope for is that Kayla is in a good mood & won't be fussy all day long.  Maybe I can actually get some unpacking done & make some progress around the house tomorrow.  Ideally it would be nice if my hubby could stay home & spend the day with us... but I know that would never happen, unfortunately.

I'm sure I will blogging more tomorrow... so until then, everyone bundle up & stay warm tonight!

Hurry home

Tonight Fred comes home from Colorado... he's been gone since Wednesday & I'm more than ready for him to return home now.

This is the first longest stretch for him to be gone since baby Kayla arrived.  Needless to say this has been the longest 5 days for me.  Kayla & I both can't wait to see him.

It's felt like I've been living like a single mom since he's been gone.  Working & taking care of baby Kayla all by myself.  For the most part it's been ok, we've managed.  I actually took a short nap today with Kayla & that was definitely over due.  I feel so much better even though it was only for about an hour.

I can't get over how peaceful she looks when she's sleeping.  I know I should be catching some Z's while she is, but sometimes I catch myself just starring at her beautiful face while she's in dream land.

Over the past few days, Kayla & I have been playing dress up with all the outfits that I know are getting a little too snug & soon she will no longer be able to wear anymore.  Why you may ask?  Because I want pictures!  I want pictures of her in every single outfit so that I have proof to show people just how damn cute she was in each one.  Then when she gets older I can show her the pictures & hopefully she doesn't cringe at the outfits I dressed her in.

I know I've turned in to one of those crazy mom's who play dress up with their child, but I simply can't help it.  It must be an illness or something, who knows.  Surely I'm not the only crazy mom out there that does this, I mean seriously.

When you're a little girl growing up you play dress up & house with your dolls... and now being a grown woman, I get to do it for real.  It's my real life "house".

As Kayla lays there like a little angel while I write this blog, I think to myself... how much in love I am with my husband & daughter.  It's amazing the love I have in my heart for both of them.

My one prayer is that both of them hold me on the high pedestal that I hold them on.

I love you honey & my sweet baby Kayla.

a new body

With the birth of our precious baby Kayla... came a new body for me.  I have to admit that the first time I took a peak at my incision from my c-section in the hospital, I had a small emotional break down.  I guess it was just a little overwhelming for me at that moment.  The tears just poured down my face without control & as I walked out of the bathroom I saw Fred & I just cried even more.  As he put his arms around me trying to assure me that everything was ok & it would be ok, I felt a little relief but not completely.  The moment soon passed & I started thinking about the reason for the scar in the first place & how it was all well worth it & how I would do it again in a heart beat for my precious baby Kayla.

As the days have passed since that moment... I would still do it all over again because we have this most precious baby as a result.

Ever since I started gaining weight & my body started making adjustments to accommodate Kayla's home in my belly, my self esteem bottomed out & it's been rather hard to part with the fact my body will never be the same as it was once before.  I know losing the weight will be the hardest challenge for me & the question I keep asking myself over & over is... will I ever be sexy again?  Will my wonderful husband think I'm sexy or desire me as he once did?

After years of seeing all my good friends & family have babies & hearing all the emotions they've gone through... now I can understand it first hand myself.  Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade a moment of what I had to go through to bring baby Kayla into the world.  I just have this overwhelming desire to wake up in the morning & my body to have it's structure back & the pounds just have fallen off magically somehow.  I know, it's a dream world I guess, but that's just my thoughts.

I think we all question whether we will be good parents, when we haven't had the experience before.  Even I, who have taken kids under my wing as my own over the years, questioned myself as well.  Having the opportunity to become a mother is the greatest gift of all I strongly believe.  That overwhelming feeling of love you have for your child is just simply amazing to experience.  I can sit & stare at her for long periods of a time & just think of what a wonderful job my husband & I did to make this beautiful girl.

With all of that said, I'm learning to cope with all of the emotions that rush over me dealing with my new body I've been handed.  My goal is to be healthy & to lose the pounds that I should've kept off over the past two years to begin with.

2011 is going to be life changing for me & for our family for sure.  I'm not yet 100% sure that I'm quite up for the challenge just yet, but I'm definitely going to give it my all... as I always do.

I want to be the best wife I can be to my wonderful husband.
I want to be the best possible mother I can be to my precious baby Kayla.
I want to lose weight & obtain some type of desireable figure once again.
I wish to be successful at my new job & earn a decent income in which to help support my family.

All of these things & more are what I have on my goal list for 2011 & really... my goals for the rest of my life, how ever long that may be.

So my fingers & toes are crossed, hoping that I'm successful at everything I wish to accomplish for the upcoming year.

Christmas 2010

What a wonderful Christmas this has been for us.  So many wonderful things to be thankful for.

Christmas Eve...
We went to my brother's house for lunch at 1pm.  My parents brought along Uncle Earl & that was great to have him join us this year.  Otherwise he would've been sitting at home alone & well who wants to do that on the holiday.  This is my great-niece Katie's first Christmas, our first Christmas being married & our baby Kayla's first Christmas also.  So many great things to celebrate this year!

It's hard to believe the year is almost over already.  This year has gone by fast, very fast!  We've had ups & we've had downs this year, that's for sure.  I'd like to think there have been more goods then bads though.  I guess that's just life though.

All in all we have a lot to be thankful for.  Two things especially... our wonderful marriage & the birth of our first baby.

Christmas Day...
We spent the day at Fred's parents house with all of the family.  It's been a great Christmas this year.  I have to brag & say we both have wonderful families.  It's just nice to spend time with everyone for the holidays & be able to celebrate a new little life, baby Kayla.

This is officially our first Christmas as a married couple & to me that's very special.  To be able to spend the holidays with the love of my life, that's just priceless.  We have our moments of course that we want to ring each other's neck, but really there's no other person I can imagine spending the rest of my life next to.

Kayla had a great time getting to meet everyone & spend time in everyone's loving arms.  I could tell she was worn completely out by the time we retired back to home, but I know she had a good time.

I'm starting back to work this week... working from home part time that is.  I'm very lucky to have that option & I can't say how thankful I am for the loss of my last job to allow me this opportunity to arise.  It's amazing how things somehow just work themselves out... & like the saying goes... "everything happens for a reason".  So true... so true it is.

To all...
Merry Christmas with love from our family to yours!

South Dakota jealousy

I'll admit it, I'm jealous.

I'm jealous that I don't get to go on road trips with my hubby.  First it was Montana a month ago & now South Dakota.

I wanna go on road trips.  I wanna get away & take a break.  When do I get to go?  Just the two of us.  A road trip... somewhere... anywhere.

We did go to Branson for our honeymoon & I enjoyed every minute of it, but I'm still jealous.  I wanna be the one going with him.

Maybe next time I will get invited to go.

I guess all I can do is keep my fingers crossed that I'll be included next time.

Montana frustration

My hubby & his dad have been on a road trip to Montana since Wednesday.

I have to say I'm ready for him to return home now.

It's frustrating when the longest conversation we've had is approximately 6 minutes at any given time he calls, which is about twice a day.  I know he's with his dad & all.  I know they've been busy & tired.  It's just frustrating.

Especially when your ready to find out all the details of their day plus hopefully discuss the details of mine as well & it abruptly ends with "I gotta run, call ya tomorrow".  Ugh

I guess we're just different in that aspect.  Personally, I would make time every day to have a decent length of conversation with him if I were gone for that long away from home.

It just kind of feels like it's not a big deal to him if we even talk at all.  Or maybe he's so busy he's not missing me.  Heck I don't know.

I'm just ready for him to be home now.  Unfortunately that won't be tomorrow.
Guess I'll just have to deal with it.

Maybe someday I'll get the invite to go to Montana too.  Who knows.

officially official

Well it's officially official, we are Mr. & Mrs. Cowcatcher!  Woohoo!

I thought our wedding went really nice last night & we were happy with how everything turned out.

I didn't even so much as trip while we were walking down the aisle either.  That's always a bonus.  The best part was that my dad actually walked slowly with me... unlike his brisk walk during rehearsal the night before.

I think the only complaint I had was the hot beaming lights that were supposed to be adjusted before our wedding, which apparently didn't happen.  They felt like heat lamps from a tanning bed but with no fan to cool ya off.  Luckily we both made it through without completely melting in a pool of sweat.

Now we're looking forward to this Saturday for our reception.  My bff Kat is making our cakes & I can't wait to see them.  Her cakes are always awesome.  She should really consider doing it for a living, she'd make a serious stack of cash I'm positive.  I have to brag though... I have the most talented bff ever.  I swear there's nothing she can't do.  She's done so much for my wedding it's crazy.  If only I had half her talent, wow.  I'm just so thankful & blessed to have her as my bff & everything she's done for me & continues to do.  She's just an awesome bff!

Yesterday was such a long day!  I rolled out of bed way before I wanted to & then had a nail appointment at 10am.  After my nail appointment I went to my parents house to pick up a few things to take w/me to the church just in case they didn't get there the same time I did.  After that I ran into town to Parkway to look at a white dress shirt for Fred to wear with his suit.  He met me there to check it out & didn't like the shirt so he left & went to eat lunch w/his family & I headed north west bound to madly search other stores for the perfect shirt.  1pm & 3 stores later I found one & purchased it after calling to make sure he was ok w/what I had found.  Left the store immediately, ran back to Parkway to have them press it so we could pick it up at 4pm.  By this point the afternoon was closing in on me & I was starving!  I ran thru the drive-thru at Braum's & headed home to eat & relax.  After I finished eating, my Mary Kay lady called to say she had my make-up ready for me, so I jumped in my truck & drove over there to pick that up, then headed back home again.  At this point it was 3:30pm & I was exhausted.  I made the decision to lay down for a brief nap & ended up sleeping until almost 5pm.  Oops.  Supposed to be at the church at 6pm.  Fred got home right after I jumped out of the shower & somehow we made it to the church right at 6pm.

So that was the crazy day yesterday.  Needless to say we were both extremely exhausted by the time the evening was over.  After our wedding, we all went to eat at Mackie McNear's.  Fred & I went by my parents house afterwards to drop my dress off & for him to change clothes & leave his suit there as well.  By the time we got home for the night it was late & we were both totally wiped out.

I'm certain as soon as both our heads hit the pillows we were out like a light.

The alarm went off way to early this morning, then I started kicking myself for not taking a half day off work today so that I could let my body re-coop from yesterday.  Apparently I wasn't thinking about how drained I would be.

The sweetest thing happened this morning though.  When Fred walked me out to my truck as I was leaving for work, he had put his ring on!  Awe... just totally warmed my heart.  I wasn't expecting him to have it on that early this morning, but he did.  I melted a little.  Ok... I melted a lot.  Then I wanted to go back inside the house & curl up in bed with him... but unfortunately I had to go to work.

Tonight I plan on getting to bed fairly early to catch up on some much needed rest.  Baby Kayla is draining me of all my energy these days.  Today has been the biggest challenge so far.  I think I've dozed off over 100 times trying to be productive at work.  Hopefully this evening we'll have a nice quiet evening together... our first evening alone as Mr. & Mrs.  Awe.

I can't wait to post pics of my hott husband in his suit though, wow he was smokin hott!

going to the chapel

Ok... everyone sing it with me now...

Going to the chapel and we're gonna to get married.
Going to the chapel and we're gonna to get married.
Gee, I really love you and we're gonna to get married.

Going to the chapel of love.
Spring is here,
the sky is blue.
Whoa! the birds all sing as if they knew.
Today's the day, we'll say, "I do"
and we'll never be lonely anymore.

Because we're going to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Gee, I really love you and we're gonna get married.
Going to the chapel of love.

Bells will ring,
the sun will shine.
Whoa, I'll be his and he'll be mine.
We'll love until the end of time
and we'll never be lonely anymore.

Because we're going to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Gee, I really love you and we're gonna get married.

Going to the chapel of love.
Going to the chapel of love.
Going to the chapel of love

Well we're now down to less than a day away from becoming Mr. & Mrs. Cowcatcher.  Everyone keeps asking me if I'm nervous or getting the last minute jitters, but I'm not & I haven't had any of that.  The only thing I'm nervous about is walking down the aisle in my dress & hoping everyone likes the way I look in it.  As far as actually getting married... I'm not the least bit nervous at all.

I guess when you know in your heart your marrying the person whom you know for a fact you will spend the rest of your life with... maybe you don't get nervous or have the last minute jitters, who knows.

I've learned first hand... that even planning something simple & small takes a lot of planning & can be a lot more stressful then I ever imagined.  I can't imagine trying to plan some crazy huge ceremony like some of those shows you see on TV.  That's just not our style, plus why spend that much money on something that will only last for a day.  I'd rather save the money & purchase something we need or want.

I have to admit that it does kinda feel like we're in some type of dream right now.  This time next year, not only will we be celebrating our first anniversary together but we will also be holding our first child.  Kinda crazy to think about huh.

I know that I can't wait to see my honey all decked out tomorrow night.  He's gonna look hott.  Wait, what am I saying... to me he always looks hott.  Do you think it would appropriate for me to grab his butt when we have our first kiss as Mr. & Mrs.?  Nah... I'm just kidding.  Not sure the preacher would find that humorous & it would probably embarrass my honey as well.  I'll refrain.

Chances are, this will be my last blog as a single woman.  The title will officially fit after this.
"When Two Trails Become One Road"

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves."

happy bday

Sing it with me now...
It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to

Heck I almost forgot it was my birthday yesterday with everything else that's going on at the moment.  Wedding & reception planning wow... so much to get done in such a short amount of time.  Thankfully I have a lot of people around me who have an idea of what they're doing.

I'm just not very good at coming up with ideas for stuff like this & it's proving to be a challenge to figure stuff out & try to maintain my sanity during the process.

Well anyways... so yesterday was my birthday.  Yep... the big 33!  These years keep going by faster & faster the older I get I swear.

Since there was some people from our corporate office in Houston visiting yesterday, we all went out to lunch together.  The funny thing was while we were sitting there talking waiting for our food one of the guys said it was his birthday too... so then we said this had to be our birthday lunch so someone else had to buy... and it worked, that's what counts.  It was on the company (smile).

After work I rushed home, let Abigail out for some fresh air & to take care of her business, then change clothes & go to my parents house to meet Kat & her mom for my dress fitting for some needed alterations.  Didn't take long then we ran to Hobby Lobby to check out some fake flowers & I bought a pen to go with the guest book we had already purchased a few weeks ago.

It was almost 8pm before I pulled into the driveway.

Fred had made a trip to Hereford, TX & had driven straight back home afterwards, so I know he was exhausted from a day full of nothing but driving.  Driving doesn't bother me, but I'm not sure I could make a long trip like that all by myself with nobody to talk to.

I was kinda hoping for a warm welcome when I walked in the door, like any birthday girl would want I suppose.  Not exactly what I received though.  Instead I got Mr. Grumpy.

I really do hate these prego hormones I tell ya!  Coming home to Mr. Grumpy last night sent me into an emotional tornado which would probably be rated as an F25 if there is such a thing.  All I wanted to do is cry huge tears, but somehow I managed to refrain from showing anything & just patiently waited... hoping that maybe I would get a little bit of softness... love... a hug... something... anything... but... wait... nope none of that happened.

If you have to ask for attention or affection it doesn't really mean as much, know what I mean?

Around 10pm last night we made a run to Sonic to grab something to eat for dinner.  I know baby Kayla was more than pissed at me by that point, but I had hope... a little hope... ok maybe a lot of hope that we would've gone somewhere besides Sonic to eat.  Knowing my honey was so tired, he could've simply said... how about I surprise you with a nice dinner tomorrow night & just grab something quick tonight.

Again... if you have to ask for something simple it just doesn't mean as much.

On the brighter side of my birthday... I had like one million people leave happy bday messages on my facebook page which made me happy, including my sweetheart that sent me a message at 11pm last night.  Several family members called, which was nice too.

All in all I guess I had a decent birthday yesterday.

So happy birthday to me, I'm officially 33!
Heck, that rhymes, ha ha.

2 years

Approximately 2 years ago... is when my sweetheart & I officially began the start of our relationship.
I knew this man, first as my friend, ever since I was 15 years old, when we met in high school.  Looking back, I can't explain how thankful I am, for us keeping in touch off & on through the years since we graduated.

Now here we are today.  Engaged to be married, to spend the rest of our lives together & start a family.
I honestly couldn't imagine my life any other way & with anyone else.

For our "date night" last night... we went to TGI Friday's to eat dinner & we went to a movie "The Back-up Plan".  If we would've arrived 15 minutes earlier we would've watched "Date Night", but dinner took a little longer than what we had originally planned.  That's ok though, The Back-up Plan was really funny & a good movie, I'm glad we went & saw it.

We had a great time, as we always do have a good time together... just hanging out or what ever we're doing.

Time really flies by when your having fun I guess... and life goes by so quickly the older you get too.  You just have to enjoy each & every moment.

I love you sweetheart & thanks for our wonderful date last night.
